It is 3:45 p.m. (Iowa time) and Lissa has had a big day. She still struggles with the nausea at times, and they are trying to keep that under control. A neurosurgeon checked with her today to see what's up with her right arm (the one that was trapped under the van). He checked her out really well and was coming back with his team to check into it further. Unfortunately she was experiencing extreme nausea at the time they came, so they said they would check back latter when she was feeling better. She was pretty bummed about that.
She was feeling much better this afternoon. When the PT came in to work with her she said she was going to put on a walking show down the hall today. The PT wanted to know where to buy tickets and Lissa said her Dad was out selling them now. She did walk down the hall with Mr. Lyle pushing the IV ahead, Mrs. Lyle was taking care of the tube that is in her lung, while the PT let Lissa hold her arm, and I pushed the chair in back of her just in case she might need it. She never did. The PT did work with her right arm and gave some suggestions on what to do. I think her arm was doing a lot better when she was done. The normal feeling may take a while to come back, but hopefully the exercises will help the pain she has from it.
The drainage from the lungs is slowing down - it is about 215 - and the doctor said when it gets close to 100 they would be able to remove the tube.
That is the latest news from here. -Update from Mom
My mom also told me that she noticed swelling going down in her face. She held the phone to Lissa's ear so that we could talk for a few minutes. I'm not sure that it was really Lissa though, because she was spoke so soft and gently...to ME! :)
