2+ months

I can't believe my (BIG) little baby is all ready 11 weeks old. Ryan and I are having so much fun being parents. Right now RJ (nick-name that has stuck) is smiling, laughing out loud, makes funny noises trying to talk, sitting up, sleeping, and eating a lot-as always!
I am having fun staying home with him this first quarter of school. I don't have to go back teaching till November 1st. I know I won't want to go back then, but I am enjoying the days that I have right now with my little dude.
Ryan is back teaching and coaching football. RJ and I went to the first football game of the year. RJ did pretty good, he slept 8 1/2 hours after! :) More football games for that kid!
Other than that, just enjoying the nice warm weather and enjoying life.

Ryan junior was born 2 1/2 hours after the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup. He had a Stanley Cup victory beanie waiting for him, thanks to Hannah Zimmermann.

It's a Boy!!!!

On June 10, Ryan James Lyle Jr. came out to meet his mom and dad. "Little" Ryan was 10 pounds 3 ounces, and 21 inches long. He has a bunch of dark brown hair, huge hands, and looks a bit like his dad, especially his ears. He likes to be wrapped up tight and stay very warm. He was brought home Friday, June 11th.

Lissa is adding to the Lyle's

As many of you know. I am pretty much fully recovered from the accident. I would say I am about 95% back to normal, as good as it's going to get. We've waited for me to heal up before we decided to start adding to the Lyle family name...
Ryan and I are expecting a new Lyle arrival here June 3rd. We are keeping it a surprise as far as boy or girl, but as I just told my mom tonight... we are having a... BABY! Pregnancy has been going good for the most part. Some days feeling better than others, but overall I am good.
I am sure we will be keeping you up to date with the news as we find out more...

Year Anniversary

It has been just over a year since the accident and I am moving forward. Back in September I finally got feeling back completely in my right hand. Sooner than expected but grateful. If I would give a percent as to where I am compared to where I was before the accident it would be at 95%. I am not as strong as I once was in my arms but slowly working on it.
It is crazy to think about how far I have come reflecting on where I was a year ago today. I was driving to school today in rainy/black ice weather. My goal was to get there safely. Strong emotions come back when weather conditions are similar, but I am moving forward and today was a huge stepping stone driving to school SLOWLY in those conditions. My biggest motivation was knowing that a year ago today I had the chest tube remove after being in the hospital 9 days. What a relief it was as well as a painful memory. I tell everyone that if I go through life without another chest tube it will be a perfectly good life!
I think the biggest thing I learned today is being grateful for everyday of life. After getting to school this morning, not many teachers were there early, I stopped by the main office and going back to my room I walked by my principle and smiled. This smile was a smile of joy. Although weather conditions may have been horrible getting to school, I was there, completely able to do my job and I was happy. Happy to have a second chance to teach, to influence the lives of children around me.
